The worst of the bad weather has passed but some homes are still without power in the Bay of Plenty this morning.
According to Powerco, more than 500 properties in suburbs and towns around the district have lost power due to strong winds.
In Brookfield, 47 properties have been without power since the storm began on Thursday.
Some homes in Oropi, Welcome Bay, Kairua, Mount Maunganui and Katikati were without power overnight and most were scheduled to have power restored by 3pm today.
The latest homes to lose power were those in Otumoetai where 59 properties lost power at 8am today, also due to strong winds.
