Bay of Plenty went out to bat in their second innings with a 67 run advantage. While the first day belonged to the bowlers from both sides, the last two sessions on day two firmly belonged to the Bay of Plenty batsmen.

Yorkshire professional Alex Lees and Northern Knights batsmen Joe Carter came together to put on a 161 run stand, before Carter was dismissed for 61. Lees carried on to smash 141 runs, before being removed which gave Lees his second Hawke Cup century in just three games for Bay of Plenty.
Sean Davey (32no) and Brenton Thompson (25no) continued the Bay of Plenty momentum late on day two, with the home side reaching 324-6 at stumps.
Bay of Plenty lead the Hawke Cup contest by 391 runs with four wickets in hand.
