Omokoroa residents are warned of an upcoming water shutdown this week.

Water will be off from 10.30pm on Wednesday until 5am the following day for all properties north of the Omokoroa railway line.

The shutdown is scheduled to allow a new subdivision in Kayelene Place to be connected to Western Bay of Plenty District Council's water supply.

Affected residents should have drinking water stored and are advised to flush their taps following the shutdown to ensure any trapped air is released. Air in the water could make the water appear cloudy, but it will still be safe to drink.

A noticeboard has been set up on Omokoroa Road advising of the shutdown. For more information contact Council on 07 571 8008.
