The second Tauranga airshow planned for March will no longer go ahead.
The organisers of the Classics of the Sky - Spitfire at Sunset airshow last weekend were planning on holding a second event on March 19 but due to pilot and aircraft availability at that date, have made the decision to cancel that event.
In a statement, the organisers said the Classics of the Sky was a great success with thousands enjoying the relaxed format of an afternoon and evening's entertainment at the airfield.
"The new format for the airshow was such a success that a decision has been taken to run an annual airshow in the future, instead of every second year.
"Each airshow will include a secondary event such as the Mount Truck Show which was included this year, and very well received by the public.
