Missing Tauranga man James Vachre has been found alive and well.
Tauranga police Senior Sergeant Shannon Clifford confirmed reports Mr Vachre, 22, was no longer missing this morning after being found last night.
On a Facebook page titled "Bring James Vachre Home'', his family thanked supporters near and far, stating ''Our James Bro has been found safe and well after a tip off via this page ... thank you so so much, through the many links and sources and YOUR help we have been able to Bring James Vachre Home!!"
Mr Clifford said Mr Vachre was found at a hut in the Kaimai Ranges with help from Tauranga Search and Rescue.
''He was found alive and well and walked out by the Search and Rescue team,'' Mr Clifford said.
''He was spotted by some hunters in the area so it's a big thanks to everyone who was looking out for him by social media and in the news. He was absolutely fine and has been reunited with his family.''
Mr Clifford said the hunters recognised Mr Vachre from the appeals through social media and the news to find him.
Mr Vachre was last seen at his Devonport Rd flat on the afternoon of November 2.
He was meant to have dinner with parents that night but never arrived.
His parents told the Bay of Plenty Times last week how her son's disappearance was their ''worst nightmare''.
