UPDATED 10.42am: Power was lost to around 500 properties in Tauranga this morning due a fault on Powerco's electricity network.
Powerco acting network operations manager Dean Stevenson said the power cut occurred at 1.20am and the majority of customers in the Kaimai Ranges and Omanawa area had supply restored around 3.30am. The remaining properties had power back on by 7.15am.
On Powerco's faults website, it estimated all homes would have power back at 10am.
EARLIER: Hundreds of people have been left without power in the Kaimai Ranges this morning.
A power outage was reported to Powerco at 1.23am, but the cause remains unknown at this stage.
Powerco estimates power should be restored about 10am.
Homes reported to be affected are: BELK ROAD, BERNARD STREET, BRIANELL VALLEY ROAD, DYER STRAIGHT, HAVANA KEY, KUMI KUMI ROAD RD1, LLOYD MANDENO ROAD, MANSEL ROAD, MCLAREN FALLS ROAD, NGAMUWAHINE ROAD, OLD KAIMAI ROAD, OMANAWA ROAD, PENMORAL ROAD, PORI PORI ROAD, RIMU STREET, RUAHIHI ROAD, RUAHINE STREET, SOLDERS ROAD, STATE HIGHWAY 29, TEBBUTTS ACCESS, THORN ROAD, TOMSETTS ROAD, VALLEY VIEW ROAD, WAITAO ROAD, WALTER HENRY DRIVE.
