Allan Francis Barlow in Tauranga District Court today on charges of attempting to procure a special duties police officer to murder his parents

Allan Francis Barlow in Tauranga District Court today on charges of attempting to procure a special duties police officer to murder his parents

A Tauranga security officer accused of attempting to arrange for someone to murder his parents will defend the allegation at jury trial.

Alan Francis Barlow, 42, who has denied a charge of attempting to procure a special duties officer to murder Kevin James Barlow and Diana Noeleen Barlow, made a brief appearance in Tauranga High Court today before Justice Lang.

Justice Lang scheduled a two-day jury trial to begin in the High Court at Rotorua on August 18.

The Crown alleges in October last year Barlow approached an undercover police officer in Huntly and attempted to arrange the murder of his parents, understood to be in their 60s.

Justice Lang set down a two-day trial to begin in the High Court at Rotorua on August 18.
