Metservice stated there was a high risk of significant heavy rain about Bay, Coromandel Peninsula and the Gisborne ranges during Sunday and early Monday, with a low risk over parts of Northland, Auckland, Waikato and Taupo.
Later on Monday, the low is forecast to weaken while crossing the country, with rain or showers for many areas.
