Rena's environmental impact to be known

Oil can be seen leaking from the Rena, after its October 2011 grounding.

Reports detailing Rena's impact on the environment will be released today.
The two "significant" reports follow the Rena Recovery Plan's scientific monitoring programme, which has been assessing the environmental impacts of the grounding on the environment.
It is part of a $2.4m government initiative to "restore the Mauri of the affected environment to its pre-Rena state".
MNZ will release the Independent Review of MNZ's response to the grounding, carried out by Simon Murdoch.
A media briefing will be held at 12.30pm.
