Cheques have gone out to many of the musicians and performers involved in the cash-strapped 50th National Jazz Festival.
Festival director Arne Herrmann last night confirmed the 50th annual festival, held in Tauranga at Easter, had enough funds to meet all its obligations, including payment for the musicians.
In the aftermath of the festival weekend, Mr Herrmann said the event had incurred a $50,000 deficit, and organisers hoped to be able to pay the majority of performers fees on May 20. However, 12 days after the festival, organisers were now able to pay.
"With actual invoices now processed, it is clear that with a combination of savings achieved, a final grant from First Sovereign Trust Ltd and using the reserves of the Tauranga Jazz Society, we'll be able to pay all bills."
Mr Herrmann said he applied for the First Sovereign Trust grant long before the festival but it had only recently been approved.
