Got a letter from Santa . . .try room 7

Got a letter for Santa? Try Room 7
SANTA'S little helpers are extra busy this year after taking on a job delivering hundreds of letters to the pupils of Bethlehem Primary.
Room 7 has been transformed into a bustling school mailroom with two dozen happy little elves taking on the challenge of stamping, sorting and delivering important Christmas greetings to other classrooms.
Mail-elf Janaye Henry told the Bay of Plenty Times there had been 2000 letters sorted and delivered through the Room 7 postal service this week.
But fellow elf Samara Somerville-Petch thought the guess was a little far fetched: "It was probably more like 200".
However, all that matters is that the people get their mail. And the elves will do everything they can to make sure that happens.
"The first time we went to Room 12 we gave them the wrong mail so we had to go and get the mail back," Janaye said.
"Really it is to give the Christmas spirit to others. On the first day we did get confused because there were letters in the mailbox and they all got muddled."
Boasting a free service, Room 7 have become pioneers of the school daily mail delivery and it's set to become an annual Christmas occasion.
Almost all of the school's 400 pupils have used the mail service this week and teachers have used the prompt service too. Pupils had written letters to friends in other classes, teachers and even friends that sit right next to them.
The project - run by first-year teacher Karen Hill - was devised as part of the Year 3 technology programme but according to the kids it's just plain cool.
The class set out a process plan, delegated jobs and gained principal Brian Field's consent - then began to create an actual working postal process.
The post box was built, postage stamps designed and printed, posters advertising the service were hung and Christmas themed elves put to work.
