Police want to hear from shoppers who were anywhere near Countdown at the Sylvia Park shopping centre on Friday December 4.
Four men, one of whom presented a firearm, robbed Armourguard van staff at about 6.30pm.
Police say they left in a stolen car - a silver Toyota Ipsum withstolen registration plates HNN523 - that was dumped a short time later in Mt Wellington's Fisher Crescent.
The four men were described by witnesses as solidly built Polynesians who were wearing flouro vests, gloves, dark pants and who were each about 6 foot tall.
