A giant flower smelling of rotting flesh could bloom in Auckland this week.
The first time the titan arum - also known as the "corpse flower" - opened in New Zealand at the Auckland Domain Wintergarden was in 2013 and thousands of people flocked to see and smell the rare plant.
Auckland Council are on watch for the flowering of the plant and tweeted that it was looking like the 'beauty' would bloom again this week.
The rare Amorphophallus titanum originates from the rainforests of Sumatra in Indonesia, and has been growing at the council-owned nursery and Wintergarden for about nine years.
When it blooms, a huge column at the heart of the flower will rise towards the sky and give off a stench resembling a decomposing animal.
