Auckland Transport is asking for public feedback on three possible designs for a new Auckland-wide bus shelter.
The three new shelter designs are being constructed on Symonds Street in the Auckland CBD and will be completed in the next few weeks.
They will go into normal service shortly, and the public will be invited to contribute their feedback about the new facilities.
Symonds Street is a busy location with high passenger boarding numbers and frequent bus services and is expected to be a practical place to test the shelters.
The best option will be adopted as the new shelter for Auckland.
Auckland Council says that an integral part of the planning for the New Public Transport Network is to develop a cost effective bus shelter design for Auckland.
The final bus shelter design will have a consistent look and feel across the city and will be able to scale to meet the requirements of different communities and passenger numbers.
The three new designs will be tested over two months and public feedback will be considered for the final decision of the new design with customer experience, comfort, safety and weather protection all taken into account.
