Ngati Apa settlement
<p>Ngati Apa people gathered at Kauangaroa Marae last weekend to celebrate their Treaty of Waitangi settlement. The day began with a powhiri, and continued with speeches, entertainment, kapa haka, and a feast. The settlement sees Ngati Apa receive an apology from the Crown, along with $16 million in cash, $10 million of forestry land, and $2 million of other land.
