Eides Sport Surf Fishing Contest
<p><span>Conditions couldn't have been better for a day fishing</span><span> at the beach for the annual Eides Sports $40,000 Surf Fishing</span><span> competition on Sunday. There were fishing</span><span> poles for as far as the eye could see along South Beach, stretching from the South Mole to the Whangaehu River. While not everyone managed to catch anything more than a bunch of weed, others reeled in sharks, stingray, snapper, crabs and kahawai.</span></p>
