HoopNation 2015

At the conclusion of three days and 84 matches, the winners at the 2015 HoopNation tournament were found at Springvale Stadium yesterday. Wanganui's moneyed basketball tournament saw a lot of skilful and rugged play over the course of the event. Wanganui Chronicle photographers Bevan Conley and Stuart Munro were there to catch the action.

The weather gods smiled on the Whanganui Festival of Cultures on Saturday as several hundred people packed Majestic Square for five hours of food, music and fun. More than 20 food stalls were selling everything from local hangi to Spanish candy, and that went hand in hand with a wide variety of performances by several cultural groups and individuals. The headline act this year was Dunedin-based musician Sam Manzanza and his Afrobeat band.
