Georgina Campbell
Senior Multimedia Journalist
Wellington

Georgina Campbell is a Wellington-based reporter who has a particular interest in local government, transport, and seismic issues. She joined the Herald in 2019 after working as a broadcast journalist.

Georgina Campbell works as a senior multimedia journalist for the New Zealand Herald in Wellington. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in politics and media and communications from the University of Canterbury. Her first job was working for The Press newspaper in Christchurch in 2015. She then moved back to Wellington, her hometown, to work at Newstalk ZB as a broadcast journalist before joining the Herald. She won the Bill Toft Award for her podcast Speaking Secrets, which tells the story of the global #MeToo movement in New Zealand through the eyes of survivors of sexual abuse and harassment. Georgina currently hosts the Herald's local politics podcast On The Tiles - Local edition and is a guest host on the Herald's daily podcast The Front Page. She has a special interest in local government, transport, water infrastructure, and seismic issues. Georgina still gets an adrenalin rush from a good scoop and is at her best finding the story behind the headline. You can contact Georgina by sending an email to georgina.campbell@nzme.co.nz or messaging her on X (formerly Twitter) @GeorgeKCampbell.
