Chris Marriner is an Auckland-based Journalist covering trending news and social media.

Chris joined the Herald in 2003 and joined the Herald on Sunday at its inception in 2004. He initially worked in the Herald Archives before joining the photographic team, becoming the Picture Editor of the Herald on Sunday and later taking on the role of Head of Visuals for the Herald in 2015. He now works as part of the social media and trending team, focused on getting to the bottom of stories shared by Kiwis online and covering the lighter side of news here and overseas.
