It is all about the New Zealand-bred greyhound at Wanganui's Hatrick Raceway this evening.
Two races, each carrying an $11,000 stake, will be decided over 520 metres and the 755m staying journey. The races are the New Zealand Racing Series finals (NZRS) which are restricted to Kiwi-bred chasers.
The 520m greyhounds are first up (race 7, 7.06pm) and the talented Bigtime Kinvara will start a warm favourite.
It was a phenomenal performance by this Lisa Ahern-trained and bred chaser last Friday when, after making a hash of the start, he asserted his authority to storm home to nail his 12th career win. He then backed up that win by delivering another effortless victory in Palmerston North on Monday.
Levin breeders and trainers Alan and Janet Hall will be looking to their Wanganui Cup winner Freddy John to provide them with the thick end of the payout tonight.
