The dominant pair of Richard Brock and Trevor Rush have returned to winning ways in the 2018 Blinkhorne & Carroll Forestry Winter Series taking out the August race on Sunday.
Rush and Brock opted to join in a MGM4x crew with club mates Garth Hammond and Bruce Osborne in the July race which was won by the Whanganui River Outrigger Canoe Club's waka ama crew.
But the pair went it alone for the series' fourth round on the Whanganui River, pipping club mate's Luke Watts and Jonty Thompson, finishing the 8km course in 33m 31s with a prognostic time - where each boat tries to reach the highest percentage possible of the world record time for their specific class - of 89.86 per cent.
Watts and Thomson finished the mixed-boat race in 29m 53s with a prognostic percentage of 89.19 per cent.
Whanganui Kayak Club's Jack and Liam Lace rounded out the podium finishing in 32m 49s with a score of 87.96 per cent.
