Shane Walker can sleep in a bit today if he wants.
He starts a new job in the parts department of a Whanganui motorcycle shop where the hours are far more civilised than what he's used to.
For the past 26 years Shane has worked at Pak n Save, the last 19 in the butchery, where his working day started at 5.30 in the morning.
He had mixed emotions yesterday as he walked off the job for the last time.
"I was ready for a change and a job came up at Whitelock Suzuki. I've been on motorbikes all my life," Shane, who's keen on motorcross, said.
