A 9-year-old Hawera boy is the star of a New Zealand children's book that has just been published.
Where Does Gas Come From? is a pictorial book about Harper Hupa, who meets an oil and gas industry geologist after eeling in a Taranaki stream.
At the geologist's invitation, Harper is taken on a tour through gas fields and production stations to find out where the gas comes from that his mum will use to cook the eel he caught.
The book has been translated into four other languages, including Maori, and will be released internationally.
"Energy has been the cornerstone of Taranaki's economy for 60 years, yet there is a lack of understanding about it," said photographer and publisher Rob Tucker.
