The horror continued on South Island roads this week with an Israeli tourist killed last night in a head on collision between a car and a utility vehicle north of Burnham Camp on State Highway One.
The dead man was 26-year-old Offer Malka, one of three Israeli tourists in the car.
The other two tourists were flown by WestpacTrust Rescue Helicopter to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.
Both were in serious condition today.
The driver of the one tonne utility vehicle received minor injuries.
This fatality comes the day after four people were killed on South Island roads - two Southland women when their car and logging truck collided at the Waitaki River Bridge and two American tourists when their car lost control and ended up in the Haast River.
