Police have seized more than 800 cannabis plants with a street value of millions of dollars after a three-month investigation on the East Coast.
Eastern District police commander Inspector Bruce Blayney said three men had been arrested and further arrests were pending.
Charges included cultivation of a commercial quantity of cannabis and committing crime while in possession of firearms.
A 25-year-old Wairoa man, a 31-year-old man from Hastings and a 38-year-old Raupunga man had or will face charges in the Gisborne District Court.
The investigation uncovered a cultivation operation inland from Raupunga, northeast of Napier.
Mr Blayney said the more than 800 plants seized were good quality and well cultivated.
