A 2.4ha site on the fringe of Christchurch's central business district which went up for sale yesterday is expected to fetch more than $6 million.
Clothing manufacturer LWR Industries is seeking tenders for the site.
It has five buildings on it, used by tenants for warehousing, manufacturing and offices.
Two of the buildings - one of 4500 sq m, the other 4000 sq m - are vacant, said agent Stephen Hughes of Colliers Jardine in Christchurch.
LWR Industries has a contract to sell part of the land to parties now occupying it, he said.
Anyone buying the 2.4ha would take those contracts on.
"Two additional presales will greatly enhance funding options," Hughes said.
He could not give a Government valuation or a current market appraisal of the value of the land or buildings, saying these were not available.
He estimated the land and buildings to be worth more than $6 million.
Tenders close on May 5.
