Younes, who entered the bullring for the first time when he was just 5 years old, was performing at the Feria de Paques Easter festivities in Arles, southern France, yesterday.
The Easter Feria marks the start of the French bullfighting season, but it didn't get off to the best of starts for the hometown favourite.
Despite flopping, after being smashed to the ground by the bull, Younes was still carried on the shoulders of participants and was given a hero's ovation at the end of the event.
It's not the first time the Frenchman has felt the wrath of the animals, having been gored seriously in July.
Spaniard Juan Miguel and Younes were warming up for the more experienced matadors in the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid in front of spectators last summer when the show turned sour.
Horrifying footage showed Juan Miguel, from Madrid, being charged by the bull, which gored him in the scrotum and the neck.
The puncture wound to his neck was so deep it cut through his thyroid gland.
Shortly after, Younes was seriously injured after being attacked by the same bull which gored him in both thighs and an ankle.
He then suffered 'a traumatic brain injury' on the right side of his head as he fell to the ground.
Both bullfighters managed to walk out of the ring after being tossed around several times but then collapsed.
