Passengers had to be quarantined after a mysterious white powder was found in the luggage hold of a Virgin Australia aircraft.
Firefighters in chemical suits boarded the plane after it landed at Perth airport this morning from the WA Pilbara town of Onslow, reported Perth Now.
The powder was removed and it was confirmed to be harmless about 3pm (AEST), according to news.com.au.
The passengers were mostly FIFO workers and were held in an airport lounge until the all clear was given.
A Virgin Australia statement confirmed the incident and said the substance was still undergoing testing to determine what exactly it was.
