SAO PAULO (AP) Brazilian police say they have dismantled an international drug and arms trafficking ring near the country's border with Paraguay.
The Federal Police agency says in a statement that 33 alleged members of the ring were arrested on Monday, bringing to 100 the number of arrests madesince investigations began seven months ago.
The group allegedly smuggled large quantities of marijuana, cocaine, crack, weapons and ammunition from Paraguay into Brazil, where it was distributed in major urban centers of in the states of Sao Paulo, Parana, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina and Sergipe.
