Wanganui's veteran cyclists have formed a masters team to compete in the inaugural 2014 Trust House Team Series, which is being held in the Wairarapa region over the next three months.
The North Island team series has attracted about 200 riders to compete over five races, with the local Velo Ronny's Bicycle Store team being one of 15 in the masters section, which also includes The Lanes Race schoolboy team.
Manager Ron Cheatley said for the October race of the series the team will be riding for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, making a team donation along with any prize money they may win.
On Sunday, October 5, they will also be leading a ride from the cycling store from 9am to 9.30am for the campaign.
Experienced and leisure cyclists alike can take part, with a donation of $5 per rider going directly to benefit the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. Distances will vary from 15km for leisure, through to 40km, 60km and 80km.
