While one team kept its aims and ambitions on course, another Wanganui hockey side may have upset its title chances for later in the season.
Men's side TCOB gained a point from its match with highly-rated College, but women's side Collegians went down rather heavily 1-5 to the High School Hockey Club, a team it has either beaten or drawn with three previous times this season.
TCOB's 1-1 hockey draw against visiting team College was a triumph for fine defending by the local side.
Coach Les Wilson says that if College had taken their chances, "we would have been in the red," but at the same time he paid tribute to defenders Andrew Thomas (goalkeeper), Daniel Aplin and Matthew Forward for their fine work.
TCOB also had its chances, one of them finished off by left wing Luke Kirk, who was one of the busiest players on the field.
