Plans are well advanced for the Wairarapa 8-ball singles championship to be held at Masterton's Homestead Bar over three Saturdays, starting on November 19.
Andsays organiser Phil Brazier, competition should be hot for the $1000 up for grabs.
Brazier, an ex-New Zealand pool champion, has been impressed by the growing number of talented 8-ball players in Wairarapa and further afield, and he expects many of them to be among the front-runners at the Masterton event.
"Right now, it would be impossible to pick a winner, there are a lot of players with the potential to go all the way."
Brazier said the tournament would be played under a round-robin format with the leading players going through to the knockout stages on the final day.
