1. Chocolate Boutique

From chocolate kisses or body paint to scatter on your loved one's pillow, to divine luxury hampers, Parnell's Chocolate Boutique gathers more than 100 gourmet chocolates, truffles, and pralines from seven local chocolatiers.

2. Devonport Chocolates

This is a family business that still produces hand-made chocolates in small batches. For a last minute Valentine's gift they can organise a three-hour courier.

3. Bennetts of Mangawhai

Owners Mary and Clayton Bennett have been hand-crafting their exquisite French-style chocolates, truffles, chocolate bars and stirrers since 1998.

4. Philippe's Chocolate Shop

Swoon at the French chocolates and patisserie made by Frenchman Philippe Kerti. If you can't decide between chocolate kisses, heart gift boxes or individual chocolates, you may just have to walk out with the Valentine's special cake.
