Light.

Business class.

What type of suitcase do you carry?

A soft, multi-use, lightweight Jag suitcase I have had for at least 15 years and it is still great.

What's always in your hand luggage?

Paper, passport and iPhone.

Are you a planner or last-minute packer?

Last minute.

What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?

I have too many to name. The best things are often too difficult to bring back with you; on the other hand they can be small and precious.

Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?

Tenerife.

Best packing tip?

Difficult to say, depends on the trip length.

Most memorable trip?

In 1976 to China when millions of people crowded Tiananmen Square just after Mao Zedong had died.

What do you do while on the plane?

Watch movies.
