Captain Kirk, Spock and Bones will beam down into Auckland next month to say NuqneH!*
The new officers of the USS Enterprise will be here to celebrate the premiere of the new Star Trek film, directed by Lost creator J.J Abrams.
The New Zealand premiere will be held in Auckland on April 9, two days after the world premiere at the Sydney Opera House, and will see actors Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and New Zealand's own Karl Urban walk the red carpet.
Pine follows in William Shatner's famous footsteps as Captain James T. Kirk, while Heroes' villain Quinto has donned the famous pointy ears to become one of the good guys playing Spock.
Kiwi poster boy Karl Urban, best known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings, Out of the Blue and Pathfinder, takes on the role of Dr Leonard "Bones" McCoy.
Set before the original Star Trek series, the film introduces the young, new crew and follows them on their earliest missions, venturing boldly where no man (or any split infinitives) have gone before.
Die-hard Trekkers can score tickets to the Auckland premiere by lining the red carpet on the day, where instant spot prizes will be handed out, including seats to the screening.
Everyone else will have to wait another month until the film enters general release on May 7.
As those of the corrugated foreheads say: Buy' ngop**
* That's hello in Klingon, though it translates closer to "what do you want?"
** "That's great news."
