In space, no one can save your hair

Nobody tell Chewbacca - scientists have just found space travel is apparently bad for your hair.

In a quirky study, scientists examined the activity of genes in hair follicles from 10 astronauts who spent time on the International Space Station.

The US and Japanese found genes related to hair growth were being suppressed - but only in some cases.

In their paper, in journal Plos One, they pointed out how adaptation to space could pose physiological problems to ISS astronauts after returning to Earth.
