Medieval fun at Day Out

Are you ready for a stupendously good day out? Baldrick's Big Day Out is fast approaching with a day of fun, jousting and possibly even some turnip tossing set to take place at Victoria Park on Saturday, February 20.

Daveena Taylor, Baldricks Day Out committee chair says the biennial event is fun for all ages. She says the jousting displays are always popular with the crowd, as are the knights battles. As well as the jousting there is plenty of other live entertainment on the day.

"We have live music, belly dancing displays, Zumba sessions, singers, something for everyone really."

For the younger visitors, there will be tug of war competitions, three-legged and sack races and lots more.

"It is certainly lots of fun for kids on the day."

There will also be lots of food stalls, as well as market stalls.

"Plenty of stall holders have already booked their space for the market, so bring along your coins as there are many great things to buy on the day."

Daveena says registrations for stalls are still open, so people can contact her to organise having a stall.

Prizes are also on offer for a range of competitions, including sauciest wench, raggediest urchin and best Baldrick. Stall holders also compete for the best dressed stall prize.

"Stall holders really get into the spirit of the day which is great to see."

In the lead-up to the competition a window display competition, sponsored by the Stratford Business Association, will be held for businesses.
