Stratford creativity showcased in parade

Stratford's annual Christmas parade took to the streets on Friday night, with a huge selection of vibrant and colourful floats.

Floats mustered in the War Memorial carpark for last-minute adjustments while the judges looked at each one before announcing the winners.

This year's theme was "a Futuristic Christmas" and all 60 entrants put a lot of thought and time into interpreting the theme their own way.

All the floats were well received by the crowd, who watched as the floats processed along Broadway.

The winner in the schools' category was Stratford Primary's Grinch themed float, featuring members of the cast from their recent musical production.

Overall winner was the float by the Toko community which depicted a futuristic Christmas taking place on the moon.

Second place went to CMK's glockenspiel rocket while Kaponga Primary was awarded third place.
