Ben Langton Burnell's in search for adjustments as he looks to develop.

The Kiwi javelin thrower beat four-time Olympian Stuart Farquhar at the national athletics championships, though is still over two and a half metres off the world championships qualification distance of 83 metres.

Langton Burnell says there are both a mental and physical hurdles to overcome.

He says it's about both confidence, but also core and leg strength.

Langton Burnell will try thrown the world championship qualifying distance at next week's Australian nationals.
