The Breakers are hoping to put a disrupted build up behind them when they face Illawarra in the Australian Basketball League tonight.

The team's preparations have been marred by the suspension of guard Corey Webster who's been stood down for breaching team values when arrested for alleged assault.

Breakers swingman Tom Abercrombie says they have no shortage of motivation to win against the Hawks tonight.

Abercrombie says they're coming off a 31 point loss from the last time they faced Illawarra so if that doesn't ignite the fire he doesn't know what will.

Tip off from Auckland is at 7:30pm.
