New Zealand have been tipped to collect its largest medal haul at this year's Rio Olympics and the wait for Olympians and fans is nearly over.

The Games start on Aug 6 and there will be 301 gold medals up for grabs.

To find out how the Kiwis rank against the rest of the world we'll be providing a full Rio 2016 Olympic medal table.

You'll be able to see how many gold, silver and bronze medals have been won by each nation on a table which will be updated every five minutes with a total for each country.

There will also be a per-capita Olympic medal table showing which country has won the most Olympic gold medals per population. New Zealand finished 4th in 2012 based on population.

In 2012 New Zealand finished 15th with six gold medals but have this year been forecast to win nine gold medals in Rio.
