Chelsea Football Club revealed their new strip for the next English Premier League yesterday but it wasn't the 'pyjama top' look that angered fans, instead it's the £90 (NZ$189) price tag.

Fans are outraged at the $212 cost for the top of the line version, including a name and number on the back. A cheaper 'replica edition' will cost £55 (NZ$115).

The new shirt, made by Adidas, features a pattern of the rampant lion taken from their badge displayed across the front.

Paying upwards of $200 isn't new for fans of New Zealand teams.

The Warriors website sells their home jersey for $185 ($160 for club members). If you want a name and number on the back then it will cost you $215 total. They don't offer a cheaper version.

All Blacks fans can pay $199 for a 'men's performance home jersey' at allblacks.com. There is a cheaper version for $149.99. Super Rugby fans can purchase a home or away jersey for $149.99 at the same site.

An All Whites home shirt will meanwhile cost you $129.90 at the NZ Football website.
