Jarryd Hayne has been consigned to the sidelines in the San Francisco 49ers' final game of the season.

The 49ers beat the Saint Louis Rams 19-16 in overtime at San Francisco's Levi's Stadium.

The 49ers went into the game with Hayne and three other running backs, but coach Jim Tomsula only played DuJuan Harris, Kendall Gaskins and Mike Davis, while Bruce Ellington was the punt returner.

Harris was effective, making 67 yards on the ground and catching eight passes for 86 yards, while Davis didn't make an impact, rushing for 34 yards on 10 carries.

Hayne's only impact on the game was making a tackle when on the kickoff coverage team.

49ers rookie head coach Jim Tomsula is said to be facing the sack after the end of an unsuccessful season.
