NZ badminton team beaten by Ukraine

New Zealand will play Switzerland in a cross-over pool match tonight (NZT) at the Sudirman Cup world team badminton championships in Malaysia.

The Kiwis finished third in their pool after they were beaten 5-0 by the Ukraine, who topped the group, in their final group match at the world mixed teams event.

New Zealand are seeded 25th out of 32 teams competing at the tournament.

Men's singles: Joe Wu lost to Dmytro Zavadsky 21-11 14-21 17-21

Women's singles: Anna Rankin lost to Mariya Diptan 22-24 21-13 21-10

Women's doubles: Amanda Brown/Kritteka Gregory lost to Mariya Diptan/Natalya Voytsekh 21-16 21-11,

Men's doubles: Kevin Dennerly-Minturn/Oliver Leydon-Davis lost to Nishan Karunaratne/Thushan Karunaratne 21-12 21-12,

Mixed doubles: Oliver Leydon-Davis/Susannah Leydon-Davis lost to Valeriy Atrashchenkov/Anna Kobceva 21-13 13-21 21-11.
