A new trend is for websites to host stories and material that readers have added. They are called social media or bookmarking websites. If you find a story on nzherald.co.nz that you think others around the world might find of interest, you can easily recommend it to other people by clicking on the sites or services mentioned at the bottom of each story.

Some of the most popular are the ones we show at the bottom of each story; Digg, del.icio.us, Newsvine and Reddit. Look for the links to them on this page.

Digg:
When you "digg" it, a link to the story you recommend will be put on Digg.com so visitors to the site can read and then comment on the story and rate it for interest level.

Newsvine and Reddit are similar.

del.icio.us is a place where you can keep your favourite bookmarks and share them with others so that people can discover new things.

It's a fun way to share and help others find interesting stories so give it a try.
