US insurers appeal over World Trade Center

Insurance companies have asked a US appeal court to reject a jury verdict that will enable developer Larry Silverstein to obtain an extra US$1.1 billion to rebuild the World Trade Centre complex.

The jury decided in December 2004 that nine insurance companies were bound by insurance form language that defined the destruction as two events, meaning another US$1.1 billion for the rebuilding.
