The future of farming in the Lake Rotorua catchment is why farmers are meeting tonight (22 September) in Ngongotaha to go through the allocation of nitrogen and the consenting process.
"If you farm in the Lake Rotorua groundwater catchment and you are not aware of what's going on then you need to change your outlook toot sweet," said Alan Wills, Federated Farmers Rotorua-Taupo provincial president.
"You need to "turn on, tune in, and turn up" to the Ngongotaha Football Club rooms on Stembridge Road at 7pm tonight.
"Farmers are not only investing into improving farm environmental management, but after the day is done, they're getting the real oil on the rules and process that shapes what we do.
"Tonight, we'll get an explanation on the rules and Resource Management Act process as well as updating landowners on what's happening with the Regional Council.
