Police have arrested a 48-year-old man following an investigation into two suspicious approaches to a female in Rotorua.
The man, who is currently in custody, is due to appear in Rotorua District Court tomorrow morning charged with preparing to commit a crime.
Area Prevention Manager, Senior Sergeant Andrew Allerton, said today's arrest at a Rotorua address was the result of investigative work by Bay of Plenty police and information received from the public.
"I am grateful to the public for being observant to what is happening in our community and for providing us with information which enables us to hold people to account for their actions."
He said police also appreciated the support shown by local media.
