An enrolment team will be at the Rotorua Careers Expo next week helping young people get enrolled and ready to vote in this year's general election.
About three quarters (76.71 per cent) of 18-24 year-olds are already enrolled in the Rotorua electorate. The Electoral Commission is working to increase that number and encouraged younger voters to take part in the election.
Registrar of electors Nahne Marsters said they wanted young people to know that every vote counted.
"It doesn't matter if you're 18 or 60 - once you're enrolled to vote, your vote is worth the same as anyone else's.
"You can make your voice heard on the issues that matter to you by voting but first you have to be enrolled to vote, and we can help you do that at the careers expo," she said.
