More than 100 competitive players will converge on the Government Gardens in Rotorua this month to compete for the title of New Zealand Club Champions.
The championships will be held on the weekend of April 22 and 23.
The game of petanque developed in France at the beginning of the 20th century and has more than 100 national federations from around the world affiliated to the international body.
New Zealand has more than 1200 affiliated players from 42 clubs, with all the country's top players competing in Rotorua.
Bay View Napier will defend their title against club teams from Auckland to Mosgiel.
